Braithwaites Garage is a family owned and run business specialising in 4x4, car sales & service based in Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District. We usually have on site around 40 quality 4x4 vehicles as well as a selection of prestige cars, all of which have been handpicked by a member of the Braithwaites family and then prepared by ourselves to a very high standard.

We first opened our doors for business back in 1968, when Gerald Braithwaite started a small workshop adjoining the family home.
Initially, Gerald only offered vehicle repairs but soon began selling cars.
The business expanded quickly over the following years and soon outgrew the original workshop, meaning that larger premises were required which were constructed directly opposite comprising of a workshop and covered showroom.
In addition to which the display area our used vehicles are displayed within a dry stone walled section of the site providing a Lakeland themed setting in keeping with the beautiful surroundings.

Before leaving us all of our sales vehicles go through our own workshop where they are prepared to a high standard as well as being serviced and MOT'd where required.
Each vehicle is supplied with either a manufacturer's warranty or a warranty with ourselves - unlike many warranties that are supplied with second hand vehicles where the supplying dealer or you the customer have to go through to the warranty company in the event of a claim to get the work approved or indeed to see if it is covered!
